Went back to the campsite on the creek today. Haven't had a significant find from there since March 11. Only camp lead or occasional .30 something ball .
I hunted for a total of 2 hours. about 45 mins into it had a dog come trotting up on my left from behind. Seen him out of the corner of my eye. Gotta tell you even though he was a schnauzer he startled me. His owner was 60 ft or so behind. So curious dog owner wants to talk. So I visit with him and guess what? He's metal detects to and wants to know if I've found anything?? I've got deadfall sticks stuck in the ground at every hole that had goodies and were standing right in the middle of the grove with 50 or so limbs stuck in the ground all around us. ( lay out of the camp ) I look him in the eye and tell him NO.. Ha-Ha
He stays for about 10 - 15 mins and while he's there I dig a piece of can slaw I just got a hit on when this whole thing started. Told him it was aluminum before I started and when he seen Busch beer lettering he was satisfied I wasn't digging good finds( not far from the truth past couple of days ). Anyway I start off in a different direction as he's leaving and come across the " Save me from Skunk again " bullet!!!
