No silver today, but look what happens when you really slow your swing down...

Detector(s) used
Minelab Safari with SEF 8x6; coming soon: FORS Gold+
I went back to the spot where I had found my 1937 Washington to see if I could eek out another silver, but no luck. However, I realized that I have been swinging my detector way too fast lately in order to cover lots of ground, and so I gridded the area where I found the quarter and slowed to half speed. Out of a strip no larger than 25' by 10' I managed to pull 8 wheaties from the 40's and 50's and a Golden Gate medallion. How did I miss these before?

Well, these items were 6-7" deep and not everything in the ground is laying flat but can be laying slanted or on edge, and so it's very easy to miss targets if you're swinging fast, regardless if you have a fast processor on your machine. So a word to the wise, slow down! The good news is that this was just a small portion of the field I'm hunting. There's lots more ground to be covered.

By the way, the oriental medallion was found at another school. Can anybody translate the backside?

HH,

Ray
