very possible coke as it was said -- found near an old train track or steam powered engine area maybe ?

It was about 8" deep in my yard, no railroad tracks anywhere in the area. The place I live at was once of the first homesteads in the area and I am pretty sure that the guy who lived here was a blacksmith, due to some of the tools and weird slugs of metal I have found.
Could it be something to do with old time blacksmithing?

Coke turns up all over the place. The old engines were used not only for trains etc
