i made this out of stuff i had, the little feet are floating pistions from a shock, i just put some cooking oil in them,and glued some rubber on them to keep it from sliding around.

Diatomaceous earth will take care of these ants.
Just sprinkle a bit on their tract, they go back, groom each other, and bleed out.

How do you keep the dog from just licking up all the cooking oil? Theres no way my dog would leave it alone.
so far she has not messed with it.
