Yeah to be honest i'd rather search a box of pennies/cents than a box of dimes these days!

My dimes have produced the same for the last 5 years. To be honest, I'm just burnt out again, and it's truly cheaper to buy my silver outright at this time.

I used to wanna search dimes over any other denomination any day of the week, but lately im lucky to get 1 per box.

And i agree its not worth the effort. But if you have fun going through dimes or are just starting out then id say go for it.

Dimes aren;t worth the effort pennies and nickels can be more productive.

I don't like face searching so I don't do cents/nickels- I only face search halves so I don't miss the 40%- I'm only in it for the silver- gonna take a few weeks off from dimes

It's not fun doing dimes with as few and far between they have been- I can take the skunks on halves because finding one is worth it but man finding 1 dime in every couple boxes just ain't fun :-)

Exactly, if you find one 64, its like finding 6 dimes lol

5 dimes.

50 cents = 50 cents :)

Melt is the same for 90% coins, except there is a tad bit more silver in the 90% dollar coins, as opposed too (2) half dollars, or 4 quarters, or 10 dimes.

Unless youre going by weight
1 dime= 2.27g and 1half= 12.5 g so if by going by weight the 1 Half is better than the 5 dimes
Which is why the LCS in my area charge just a tad bit more for halves per dollar than dimes/qtrs

Wrong. The charge more because people want larger physical silver compared to smaller silver.

Not what they say- they say they charge more for the halves because of their weight- they actually sell more and are out of more often the dimes and qtrs because of this- at least the couple LCS I shop at

half dollars typically have less wear (as a percentage of their weight). In new condition though, the same face value should have the same amount of silver, regardless of denomination.

Coin shops around me charge more for silver half dollars and even more for dollars because of the demand they can get more money.
