Agree It probably a flower shaped piece or had a stone set in piece that was held on by a rivet

I realize the item was green-checked already but it looks like it may have been part of a locket ring.

TN should give a prize for most posts in "What is it". You would certainly win hands down. :laughing7: I think you have like 27 posts just on the first page alone. :dontknow: When I log on to TN, the first thing I do after reading "Todays Finds" is go to "What is it" to see what Garabaldi is asking about today! ::)

I thought it sounded kinda rude. :dontknow:

I enjoy your posts Garabaldi. They give us all something to do, no matter how easy or hard of an ID they may be. At least you are getting to go detecting more often than most of us.

When I posted I didn't realize the item was green-checked already, however I do agree with GopherDaGold on the locket ring suggestion :icon_thumright:

Garabaldi, I too look forward to your posts. This is my favorite forum on this site. I don't think SkyPirate meant anything by his statement. It can be very difficult online to determine when someone is being viciously sarcastic or just messing with ya in a good natured manner. I believe it was the latter.

@ IronSpike...Great minds and such, eh?

Yeah I think Garabaldi needs to remove the green check until the ring is fully ID'ed :D

The green checkmark is valid as long as he agrees that the item is a ring. We may never know exactly what type of ring it is.
To that end, has anyone ever figured out how many licks it takes to get to the Toosie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop? I think not. Has it ever been established that just exposing a portion of the chocolatey chewey goodness is acceptable or must it be the entire thing? :dontknow:
I'm pretty sure the ring is not silver and I'm positive it's not gold so that narrows it down to an extent
regardless of what it's purpose is, (or was)

I even found myself researching old decoder rings but the face of the ring looked a bit small to accomodate a decoder dial.

Garabaldi, keep 'em coming! The WII category is my favorite, and I can always depend on Garabaldi to post something interesting. It's too cold for me to get out and MD, so I look forward to seeing what you and others have braved the cold and hard dirt to find. Breezie

To skypirates defence he did not intend his comment to be negative. Thanks for all the nice comments. :icon_thumleft:
Thanks Breezie and yes it has been cold and yes the dirt is hard. :-X
As far as the green check, the last thing I was thinking about was a ring. When it was first suggested I thought you guys were crazy, but then I bent it in shape and BLAM #%&$%# a ring. :hello2: So I am satisfied with it being a ring. I agree it would be difficult to narrow what kind and how old. :dontknow:
Check it out it fits and you can interchange the gem. :icon_thumleft:
