Bought a Keene A51 this morning and headed out to a spot I tried a couple of weeks ago that supposedly had some good gold. I set up the sluice and ran about ten buckets of material classified down to 1/4".

Got home and did a clean out and found one tiny little speck; the worst I've ever done!

Flow seemed good and I was digging some dang good looking spots... The creek is infamous for being hit or miss for gold, so I must have simply been in the wrong spot...

Looked good to me...

You got a miss this time but next time it could be a hit. Thats the way it goes in prospecting. That is a good looking spot. You just didn't find the pocket this time.

Good Luck!

The creek I was prospecting in is the Agua Fria, which is pretty remote and about 20miles from my house. Beautiful country and nice to get away from the crowds.

However, Just 2 miles from my house is Lynx Creek, which always produces gold, but flow is not as good and there are dozens of other prospectors crowding the area...

Idowa I use the same sluice with a tweak I took a roll of 1/4 no climb and fit it over the top I can change to 1/2 in different country.I fit it so it sets flush twoards the front and is up about two-three inches in the hind.then I can just shovel.had to play with it some to figure the feed rate.as long as the flow is good it works really good.cheers
