Found this in the wall of a falling down house, built in the 1800s. Thought it was interesting. It looks like something to do with electricity, but I don't know. It looks like it says "Unit C"....maybe? Shaped like a battery. I tried researching but I cant seem to find out what it is. I also don't really have any idea how old it is, so if you could help me out on the age too that'd be great! Thanks!

Yup, it’s a Unit Cell battery made by the Simmons Hardware Co. Probably from the 1920’s or 30’s. Most likely 1.5 volt.ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1591054065.896574.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1591054121.481718.jpg These batteries show the Simmons logo.

I found listings for Simmons from the 1880's to 1920's

not sure if all are the same though
