Found this in the wall of a falling down house, built in the 1800s. Thought it was interesting. It looks like something to do with electricity, but I don't know. It looks like it says "Unit C"....maybe? Shaped like a battery. I tried researching but I cant seem to find out what it is. I also don't really have any idea how old it is, so if you could help me out on the age too that'd be great! Thanks!

This display case of cardboard batteries is dated 30s

Yup, it’s a Unit Cell battery made by the Simmons Hardware Co. Probably from the 1920’s or 30’s. Most likely 1.5 volt. These batteries show the Simmons logo.

I found listings for Simmons from the 1880's to 1920's

not sure if all are the same though
