It's an Asian pagoda, which is used as garden/yard decoration. If you google 'pagoda' yard decor, you'll see thousands that are similar.

These are lanterns....notice how you can put a candle in the middle piece. A pagoda is actually a building....

UncleMac, bless your heart :) I know it is not a building, so let me clarify: It's a yard decoration in the the 'style' of a pagoda. And, yes, as UncleMac said, it can be used as a lantern. Actually, I've seen people burn Citronella candles in them to help keep away mosquitoes. :) Breezie

japanese stone lanterns - Google Search

check out "japanese gardens" or some such search for some good ideas too. I keep a couple of these at ponds in my woods surrounded by stepping stones and a lot of moss....

So, just wondering, as pagoda statues go did i inherit one (based on the pics i posted) of low, moderate, or high quality?
