Looks like a broken early vic. "eastlake design" door, lock plate or hinge ?? or window hardware piece of the late 19th century.

It looks to me like a piece of an oil lamp holder, the part that screwed to the wall.

I don't know what it is but the styling, to my eye, is Art Deco - 1920's to just after WWII.

I concur with tamrock that it is a piece of eastlake design hardware

I broke one of those lamp brackets by tightening the screw too much, it broke almost identical
