Re: Night detecting

Hey, know what that wierd thing is in the lower right corner is? It's an old mouth harp. The spring tab that makes the "twang" sound is gone, but it was attatched to the little notch in the middle of the circle shaped part. Cool. I've seen lots of harmonica reed plates, but that's the first mouth harp I've seen come out of the ground.

Re: Night detecting

Nice finds, I have one of those rings with a few keys hanging on it. Really! found it in my yard, but not my keys? If you night hunted in my neighborhood someone would probably take a shot at you! I see you're being politically correct as that instrument is commonly called a Jews Harp, why I have no idea, hope it isn't offensive to anyone. It's late, or early, 2:20 AM and I have insomnia and my brain goes dead at midnight! JIM

Re: Night detecting

Great finds again, Hard pan! At every foundation I've searched so far, I've found a harmonica reed. No "mouth harp' yet. Keep on posting!

Re: Night detecting

Great looking relics HP! I might have to start night hunting as it's way too hot during the day! HH, Mike
