I have found not one not two but three nickles at the depth of 8 to 10 inches in a very used school yard from 1930s to present.. could not believe the first time. thought i might had knocked it deeper the second time, but the 3rd time i had a 8" in dia.hole 10"deep when it came out in a clump of dirt. this soil had 20% mix of sand around a ball field.

THIS IS WITH A 5"COIL 1938,1953, 1953..

The Troy is one of the deeper machines with a small coil. The Treasure Baron is another if you can handle the weight.
One other advantage of the X5 over say a Tejon, is that both low and high conductivity items respond well. Pity they didn't keep on making them.

wow i have 5 coil
ive used it
but
became so used to the DD i switched back :-\
maybe ill have to give it another shoot
what were your settings ???
