I want to start off by thanking P@tch for taking me on a really successful hunt. He said that it would be one of his "guaranteed to find silver hunts"... and he was right, I got a silver coin and silver jewelry, plus a bunch of other goodies!

I was rewarded with a nickel trifecta, and the buffalo has a date. But the real story was three V nickels in one day! I have only found two in the last three years!

I also got this dogwood flower ring, that I believe was made by Stuart Nye in Asheville, NC. It's marked "Sterling Hand Made". Stuart is famous for his dogwood (and other) hand made silver pieces. They make jewelry the old fashion way. Check out this link for info:https://stuartnye.com/

Two IHCs appeared during the hunt. The back of one of them, was really a nice deep strike! I soaked them in mineral oil, and tried to remove the dirt. It's really stuck to them.

I also got my first cash coin. Any help with a date would be appreciated.

Lastly, a NC State Seal cuff button. It's newer, but still cool to me.

Thanks for looking and best of luck on your hunts!

P@tch Rocks!

Glad to see another fantastic post of some of your great finds Tom. You were due for a great day. We are in the same boat when it comes to V nickels. That appears to be a great site that P@tch invited you to.

Unfortunately, I owe P@tch big time!

Thanks Loco, and I look forward to seeing you for Thanksgiving. P@tch did well on this spot. It was odd, there were very few high tones, apparently, someone else had dug the high tones. It's a regular sized front yard in town, and it's yielded (5) V nicks, (2) buffalos and (5) IHCs... I got 8 Wheaties, 5 were from the teens. But zero silver coins! Somebody dug a hand full of Barbers out of the place at some point! However, they left a bunch of mid tone jumpy trashy sounding targets in the ground. We dug it all, and were rewarded for our efforts.

I dug everything but the silver Rosie, at that spot, in about 2.5 hours. The first hour was slow, the last hour and a half was fast and furious!

I am sure that you saw these (2), yes I said (2) 1899 dog tags from Newton, NC that P@tch dug. They rang up below a nickel signal... a 40 at 12khz on the Deus. Who knew?

I really wish that I had found one of them.

Most excellent hunt Tom!

Like I told you earlier, I can't get enough of those V-nickels!

Good luck to you bro

Congratualtions on the excellent old coin recoveries! :occasion14:

I love the two buttons!

You killed it Tom!! Can't believe that's your first cash coin, would have thought you had a few of them already.
Sweet little trifecta with the nickels and to find 3 v-nickels on one hunt, I'm lucky to get a few all year.
I personally like that ring and the fact it's marked Sterling Hand Made and that it's local to you. Love finding items with a local history.
And I know you liked it when those Indians surfaced....wish all my hunts were like this one.

Fantastic! Hunts like that are few and far between. You really nailed it. Thanks for sharing.

Congrats Tom.
That's a lot of coins.
Strange that you found a Qing's coin. It looks like It’s a copper alloy one-cash coinby the Beijing Board of Revenue mint during the reign of the Chinese emperor Qianlong of the Qing dynasty. Maybe 735-796.

Really excellent hunt. You guys really hammered it. When I come across a place like that, , it is so hard to let go. Congrats on a Super Hunt.

Oh my, Tom--everything is gorgeous! I especially love the silver ring. Congrats. -Lisa

Congrats on a really great hunt Tom. Will you loan P@tch out?:tongue3: First ring like that I have ever seen. I like it!
