At any rate, this is a very nice token! The J. M. Brunswick tokens date from 1874 to 1883. The 1880 Census shows W. E. Ashton as a saloon-keeper in Winchester, Randolph County, Indiana. He may very well have been the one who issued that token, especially if this piece was found anywhere close to that town. With just initials and a relatively-common last name, though, it is tough to positively attribute it.
