found this spot while hunting last year .went and detected for about 3 hours with my xlt didnt find not one coin but my detector it seems to not be working right all the signals i got came in broken sounding like junk so i started to just dig all sounds and it would turn its self off about every 15 min into the hunt i dont think anyone has detected this spot due to all the brass and shotgun caseing i found but not one coin they must be deep the soil here is soft and about 8in deep or they just did not drop any coins so im looking at a new detector the dfx sounds like what im looking for hope to get it next week and try this spot again . bjb

looks like a great spot to hunt, don't give up, people always drop stuff,if there's shells there will be coins

That site looks really promising.Look to see if theres a trash pit somewhere. They allways produce something.Vern

Good luck with your DFX. That place looks great. I have searched places like that and no coins ether. I guess they had nothing to lose. HH Burdie

Nice spot to hunt. If it's not in plain view I doubt it was ever hit. Sometimes it just takes alot of persistence to find the stuff. I have been to spots were it took 3 or 4 trips just to start finding the coins.

Looks like alot of downed tree's and shrubs around. You might have to move and step some off that stuff down.

You probably have a loose conection somewhere on the unit. My friends xlt has done that in the past also. It may not be bad. Just needs a over haul from white's. Depending on how old it is and how much it's been banged up.

It needs reprogramed and fully looked over. Good luck if you get a dfx. Great unit takes along while to master.

Most repairs are between 100.00 to 200.00 tops. They can work wonders even with the beatest units.

Definitely looks like a great site, I wouldn't give up on it...
I've never used a whites before, so I can't tell anything about them, but it turning off, don't sound good...
Good luck, & Happy hunting~

Hey, BJB, welcome to the forum. Like Jer said, get your XLT fixed. I don't really think there's going to be a huge difference between the XLT and the DFX.

Most of us know about finding those shells. They ring up sooooo nice. ;) Just nice enough to get your heart pumping.

It sure looks like a great site to me. Give it another try. :)

We get skunked so that we appreciate the good hunts that much more. Hang in there and hit it hard the next time. Today's the day------Mel Fisher.

I knowwwww how you feel. :'(
I have collected a really big can full of those things. :-\ I hunted a site that looks a lot like yours....twice...not one coin. Good luck on your next outing! ;)
