I had a little time and was given permission to hunt a very small lot. I started swinging at the front of the lot and found a 1925 Wheat Cent and then about 6 feet away I found the gold chain. The chain was just below grass level and I wasn't too excited because I thought it was plated. I really didn't find much and then I found the silver eagle toward the back of the lot. I knew that it was probably silver, but I wasn't too sure. The eagle excited me more than the chain and I was surprised that I didn't hit it with my shovel because it is big.

I walked across the road to a second lot that I had permission to hunt. A friend of mine hunted there with me a few days ago and I was surprised to pull up a used plug and find the 1956 dime. It was only about 3 inches deep. The first silver coin that I found in a month. Good to show that you have to check your plugs well. It read 12.44 on my CTX so I thought it was going to be a penny.

The chain weighed in at .967 of an ounce and is marked 14k. The eagle weighed in at 1/3 of an ounce and is marked .925. The silver spoon handle was found this past weekend and it is marked as sterling and weighed in a little less then a 1/3 of an ounce. I'm floored because I found zero gold last year and this is the second time this year that I have stumbled on gold. With the eagle and chain, I have the pimp thing going, :laughing7:

Awesome hunting, good weight on those objects. Not very often you find silver and gold at the same time. :headbang:
That silver spoon is perfect to bend into a spoon ring. That's what I did with mine and doubled its value.

Keep @ it and HH !! :hello2:

Thank you.

I just showed my dad the spoon and he mentioned the same about turning it into a ring. Where/how did you do that?

Its easy, Cut it off around that bend, file down the end and round it off. Bend it into the correct shape. You may need a hammer and anvil maybe a ring stick too. I had a friend who has experience in doing that and he did it for me. Here is what they look like...

I checked it to make sure it wasn't plated and performed an acid test on it. So far it looks legit.

Congrats on your silver and gold finds, looks like this will be your gold year!

Nice finds, silver and gold, very nice!

I am usually on the fence about posting things, but I felt like I really needed to post these finds. I get encouraged by what I see other people are finding. Thanks for all the comments!
