Heavy cause of the huge shoe (mule?). Got an iron hit right at the base of a tree so figured eh what the hay, might be something good.
Got 5 more paper shot shell headstamps to add to the collection, 1 live round, a wierd piece of lead that seems like a bullet with no point, and some square nails. Used some acrylic paint to fill in the lettering on the headstamps, like the way it looks. 20180510_175700.jpeg20180510_213143.jpeg20180510_225256.jpeg20180510_173933.jpeg

It is a bullet, not sure why its that shape though.

Hi, nice finds:icon_thumleft:

That bullet's called a dum-dum or a wad cutter. Fired at low to medium velocity they are extremely accurate and used for target shooting. The live round looks like a .223 or maybe a .222. Gary

I like what you did with the head stamps. They turned out real nice.

Thanks Todd, it has to be a wad cutter you nailed It! Yes the round is a .222, good eye20180510_173944.jpeg

Haven't seen anyone do something like that to head stamps or bullet casings before, it's really creative and cool!

Thanks, I saw them in headstamp guides and thought I would try acrylic since you can wipe it off with a wet towel pretty easily.
