✅ SOLVED Nice looking mystery find Help

I found this item a few weeks ago. this yard has produced lots of old items. I found this item on the driveway edge under the concrete. It has a screen inside the end, maybe used for water but the other end doesn't seem to have an opening. I thought it might be some sort of Burner apparatus, again no opening for gas to come out. It seems to have a piece of tubing applied to the one end. It looks pretty old to me. Thanks for looking and helping to identify this item.

Sprinkler head maybe. Water would come out of that rusted area and thwap a spring loaded arm that would distribute the water.

All, I cleaned the rust off of the end of this item and I can't find any hole for water to come out. I can tell you that the piping on the end of this is brass as well as the item itself. I am thinking of trying to get the pipe off, but it looks like it has been soldered. Could this be just a fancy pipe cap? if so why would there be a screen in the end?
