headed to a spot ive been to a few times this year trying to squeak out another silver to no avail to day, however I got this cool token that says "look savings medallion" and 6 wheats, a button, and a spoon. SAM_1065.JPGSAM_1064.JPGSAM_1061.JPG
it was super hot today and by that point I needed an airconditioner/rehydrate/food break. after lunch I headed to a old ballfield near me, yes I actually hit a public place despite my diggers adhd lol. I haven't been to many public places this year, but I figured id give it a shot. and maybe get a ring or something goodIMG_20140603_150628.jpgIMG_20140603_150623.jpg
the finds were the typical clad and junk, however I hit a patch of very early 70s (70-72) clad quarters and dimes from 1965-71 as well as clad pennies from 59-71 and the nickels from 57-64.
SAM_1069.JPG

the top row of clad is all the clad dated from 1957 to 1972, the bottom row is just modern clad.
even though I didn't get any silver it was exciting realizing how close I was and that It could've hit at any moment in this field. A fun day in all, but I think ill stick to seeking permission for the time being, it was waaaaaay too hot! lol thanks for looking and HH!!

Considering that you found some older nickels, I wouldn't bet paper money that there wouldn't be silver there somewhere.

im sure there is, I plan on going back and methodically gridding that field, that's my "plan b" site for a little while

Oh, and the savings bank coin is dated in the 50s or 60s and was to encourage young people to save money. I found one at a small park last year while I couldn't find anything else.

Thanks!

One just has to do what makes them the happiest. Sometimes, taking a break from the permission/rejection syndrome is good. Doing public places helps to cure that ADHD . ;)

Ya know what else might help ya? Run your mp3 player in one ear and the detector in the other. That way you could be entertained in between hits. LOL

Nice finds!

That looks like a nice old ball field. Sure looks like there should be some nice finds there if it doesn't get a lot of pressure. Hope it gives you something that entices you back more often.

Actually, that Look Savings Medallion was part of an advertising campaign to get people to subscribe to Look Magazine which competed with Life Magazine. Look went from 1937-71. I think I recall my parents getting "junk mail" with one of these in it. The company hoped that people would subscribe immediately, but if they didn't then they hoped that the medallion would remind them to do so sometime. A picture of this piece is on TokenCatalog.com

Nice finds!

I had a nice lady give me permission to detect around her house this past Sunday. Didn't have my mp3 player but did have her daughter yacking in my ear for the better part of a half hour before her mom took pity on me and called her inside. She was cute as a button though and when I left I gave her all the clad I had found. Hung onto the 1950 Rosie dime though for my very modest collection.

lol I don't seriously have adhd, I just prefer to hunt private properties.

and theres plenty of "entertainment" turned frustration when I get all pumped for the good signal and pow, junk lol

getting used to that Deus yet?

Nice finds. I am sure that the silver will visit you again soon! GL&HH.

getting used to that Deus yet?

I have to honestly say that I am starting to figure out the Deus. It is going to be a fantastic machine once I "master" all aspects of it. And I love that it's so light. And I just got my $100 worth of free goodies from XP yesterday. I got two of the little AA battery emergency chargers. You pop in a battery (I use rechargeable) and plug it into either the coil, control box, or headphones. The coil uses the most juice and it was about 2/3 charged and I plugged in the emergency charger and in about 45 minutes it was fully charged. I even remembered to put the battery back into the charger.
