I had some free time during work today, shhhh don't tell anyone. Anyway, I went back to the spot I found a 1905 IH penny last week. When I was there before with vanoldschool that was the only thing we found in about 2 hours of hunting. It kind of bothered me all week. This place is on a hillside where some old houses used to be and I knew there had to be more than that. So today I wasn't having much luck there again when all of a sudden I got a solid dime signal on my SE. Thinking I was possibly getting ready to dig up a silver dime out pops a little tootsie toy car, then another and another and.... Also had a couple early matchbox cars there too. The tow truck and the little red wagon/van. The 2 silver plated spoons were also there, the kid that left all this probably stole them from his moms kitchen to use for digging. Bet she wasn't too happy they went missing. I did manage to find the exact same spoons on ebay, they were made in 1937. All the cars date from the 50's. Haven't been able to find an exact match on the tractor yet. It's also a tootsie toy. It was a lot fun finding all those toys. Thanks for looking.

Nice finds. Hit that place hard. I found 3 tootsie toys last summer. One is a red truck and it cleaned up very well as it was below the clay line.

cool cache find

When I saw your post I had to look to see where you live. Those are all my cars from when I was a kid growing up on Long Island!!!!

Very cool. I am always amazed at how many hot wheels/matchbox/tootsie vehicles are buried. They're always fun to find, and they're just like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're going to find. Congrats on a neat cache!

Nice set of cars. I found the exact same truck at a site myself. 1840's site that probably gave up all the good stuff a long time ago, but it waited for me to find the truck. Honestly, I like finding the stuff as much if not more than finding the cash.

I love tootsie toys! Some of those cars are worth 30 or 40 each! Nice find!
