Went out after work, and almost instantly regretted getting out of the truck when I got there, as hordes of mosquitoes tried to carry me away and devour me. Even with bug spray, it was still really miserable. But I walked up behind a little willow tree I have walked passed hundreds of times, and right under the back side in the sand, a nice blade! Super nice flaking on it, I just wish at least t jg en base had been there so I could identify it.......

Nice even broke, almost looks like snap base point.

Still a good artifact. Why we call them heart breakers but sometimes you just gotta hang on to them anyways. :tongue3:

Wow that is a sweet one...

Keep on deetin' on. :)

Super Find!

Looks more like a paleo point, too bad the base is not there.

Geez it was a killer but hey maybe it has a brother close by thats whole. Looks at the bottom of my signature at the bug repellent. It has a very strong smell but works very well and it isnt expensive. I know the owner of the company, rock

Cool, I'll check it out haha! It was just terrible! So bad I was breathing in mosquitos accidentally! It has been a really wet year for Southwest Montana, the rest of the state is in a bad drought unfortunately!

Thanks all for the comments! The water is higher than it has been here for at least 15 years or so, and it is just starting to drop. Farmers use it to irrigate in the valleys down below, so I figure the next two months it will drop off well, and reveal more. This blade had me pretty excited for searching the rest of the year, and a couple of old timers, (one is my landlord) have given me leads on some huge ranches their families own that they have collected on since childhood. I imagine it will be harder to find stuff, as they have been picked over for years but I have always had a sharp eye, and I feel if something is left, I will find it! I'm very thankful for their permissions, and at least with my landlord, he just wants me to bring him some fish to eat in return! So I get to use one hobby I love to support the other!!!:laughing7:

That sounds like a good trade to me. Look for erosion like hill sides you might get lucky. Every year I find something new in the fields I hunt and they dont do much turning anymore of the soil.
