NIce finds from cellar hole, possible musket butt

Hey guys,
I hit a hole that I have hit in the past today. There used to be a large fallen tree blocking half the area, it was recently removed so I had a nice area to hit. I pullled out a nice 1824 LC, and a pewter spoon. I got an overload signal, turned out to be this l shaped brass piece. I thought it was just garbage but a fellow detectorist said it could be a musket butt. The inside looks like its grooved like wood would be but IDK, any ideas would be great. Also found another small brass piece real deep. Looks like some sorta key or something. Again any ideas will help.

Good seeing you Dave. Guess you where right. Real happy you popped by or I could have ended up tossing the plate into the scrap metal pile. I will be around weekdays next week lmk if your available and we can get out.

sounds good to me! nice finds again! can't believe I have been at that site.just goes to show a site can still cough up keepers.just so much road trash it's frustrating
