Found it where? Were you using a detector? Did you find it at a coin shop? Was it found in a park? Was it found at a beach? Was it deep? What detector were you using?......I think the problem with all of us ....we do not give enough detail....

found it i the vicinity of a 1940s army aircorps base. I was using a fisher cz5 that i've had since 93. the soil conditions in this part of the desert are such that it doesn't tend to turn silver black or just a little, but 70 mi. to the north they come out of the ground pure black, kinda hard to clean at times.
