I was finally able to get out detecting Saturday. It was a perfect day, temps in the 70s, cloudy and a breeze! I've been sitting out the high 90s, sunny days, it's been almost a month since I've got out, it was nice! I went out with my buddy Tom to a couple of my early sites & found a nice assortment of relics. Nothing ground-breaking but it's all history & I appreciate it! My favorite find was the colonial saddle strap guide. I also included pics of finds from my previous hunt which I didn't bother posting at the time. Hoping it's not so long before I get out again! 1_sadd.jpg2_dome.jpg3_butt.jpg4_shoe.jpg5_coins.jpg6_na.jpg7_keyh.jpg8_lead.jpg9_crap.jpg10_prev.jpg

Nice assortment of finds, and ya the photos are nice!
The brass thingy beside the key looks time piece related as in a winder off a clock.

Sounds like you both had a great time. Nice job on the really old finds!

Thanks for taking me hunting. The places were beautiful and the weather cooperated.

PepperJ says that piece is from a clock... that's my guess too, but we shall see.

Here is a pic of you gleaning the field.

Awesome display!!!! I would consider that a GREAT hunt....glad you had a nice day!! Congrats !!

Well done, on the hunt and the well structured pics! Thank you for sharing your great day with us! :icon_thumright:

Nice to see you could get out Josh, and with a buddy to boot. Both of you dug a nice assortment of items spanning quite a lengthy time period. My favorite is that ornamental strap guide. Most of the ones I find are rather plain, but yours has a unique look. Hope you can get back out next weekend when another shot of unseasonably cool air is supposed to move in. Good luck!

Thanks Bill, I really like the strap guide. You can tell it's handmade. It does look like another nice weekend on the way, I will definitely take advantage!

Great finds Magnum.
I saw Tom's post yesterday & wanted to see what you got.
WTG!

Nice finds and glad you all could get out! I want to check on some Ginseng patches but it is too dang hot and buggy to get in the woods.

Are you all still growing Tobacco over there or is that Hybrid Giant Skunk Cabbage? :laughing7: They have all but quit growing Tobacco here in most areas of East Tennessee!
