Nice Civil War Find!!

I found this button here in Southern Indiana. I was told that this would be a good place to post it. The button has Cadet above the eagle, and K.M.I. underneith it. The backmark is "Horstman Bros and Allien, NY" Does anyone know anything about these buttons, or how many soldiers from KMI fought in the Civil War? I know this is a rare button, but does anyone know how rare? Any info on this would be appreciated. Thanks and HH!

couldnt tell you how many but deffently a cadet button also its been in a fire see the black petina on it where it got burnt probly was in a fire pit at one time

Nice find, the button is extemely rare. Probably worth over $1000, but I am not a button guy, my preverence being bullets. Contact a button dealer, there are alot of good ones on the web.
