Nice bifurcated point

Since these types were most likely Atl-Atl Dart Points you are probably finding them in a great hunting spot from 10,000 years ago. We had a couple of spots where we found lots of Bifurcates over the years.

Really nice one, good find

I just found one that looks similar. You near the ocean?

here in Pa. you can find concentrations of bifurcates on just about every hilltop near a stream. You also find singles scattered everywhere.

No, but we have found a bunch of shell beads and conch shells there, so we know they traded with someone with a coastal connection. About 200 miles inland from the Gulf.
Where I live by the Gulf, we don't find many points. There is no hard ground, mostly beach sand and dunes. An extremely low tide will yield some nice pottery and occasional clay effigy, but points are very rare. There is a well preserved dugout canoe underwater in one of the tidal marshes that would be cool to excavate, but it would most likely fall apart when the air hits it.

These were all found in my general area and some were concentrated in certain areas of the sites.
