Newbie!!!

I don't know what part of Kansas you live in but I use to pheasant hunt in southwestern Kansas. There were dozens of old home places apparently abandoned. I found one old barn, a huge thing built round, three stories high and had thousands of hand cut angles. You could see it for miles on the flat land. I have kicked myself a thousand times for not marking on the map where it was located, somewhere around Dodge and Garden City. Those old places are bound to be rich in history and should yield coins and artifacts. JIM

Hello everyone! My name is Mary from Los Angeles. I'm a total newbie at this so any help would be appreciated. I'm looking into getting myself a metal detector and I don't even know where to start. What makes a good metal detector? I'm not going to be needing an underwater one, but I would like to know as much as possible about anything detector relatecd before I go out to buy one. Please feel free to e-mail me @ [[email protected]] with any tips and/or suggestions. Thanks guys!!!
