Hey there! My family and I are just starting out metal detecting. After the past two days we have uncovered quite a few relics and trinkets but shockingly only one penny from 1993. Here are some pictures of what we found today. I am hoping some of you could help us in identifying them. The first 3 pictures are of the same relic just at different angles. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry I can't help in the ID's but welcome to the best hobby in the world! :)

A family affair too, huh. That's great!

HH!

Last picture appears to be fireplace andirons possibly. Other item not sure maybe a car or tractor part from a shock absorber?

Turn up your discrimination to eliminate iron and your detector should give you solid hits on coins. Although you will miss gold if you do this. Good luck.

Cool Stuff!..I have tons of Misc Iron pieces in my shed that i just cant part with..are those Farm finds?

Picture #2 I agree fireplace andirons. Have no idea what the first photo represents. Don't know where you are hunting Rural, Urban or City. Nor what your interests may be. If you are a coin hunter frequent parks, fair grounds, Parking strips. Relic hunters will research in their immediate area for old homesteads, barns, battle sites, stage stops bridge sites and dumps. Different relic's at different locations. As you and the family spend more time on the machine that you have you will become more proficient and find more items. However looks as if you are off to a running start. Keep at it this is a hobby that just keeps on giving.

curiosity will never die.

top item looks like an automotive ball joint to me

ditto, all look like old auto parts. front suspension

Last picture appears to be andirons. They are the things that would hold the wood up so that the air could flow underneath. These are a good find and hard -at least for me-to find a pair. They appear to be older but are of no value other than being cool that you found them. Keep swinging and sharing your finds with us.
