Detector(s) used
White's MXT Pro / White's GMT
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
I purchased a White's MXT Pro from Larry at Big Valley Detectors in Citrus Heights, CA this week and took it out for my first use today at a local park (posted okay for metal detecting). I stayed close to the baseball backstop, knowing that it has been there for at least 50 years (since I played Little League there 50 years ago. . . ) In no time I was getting all kinds of hits for pennies at various depths up to 8 inches. I passed on all those but decided to flip over a piece of sod for the dime at 3-inches. You can only imagine my delight with it turned out to be what I believe to be a $20 gold piece. To the untrained eye, it looks a lot like a 1983 Liberty Dime, but who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?! Photo below for proof of find. Lots of fun!

Nice find and welcome aboard!

welcome , your hooked now for sure, try digging the pennys too, last spring i found a nice ornate copper and brass bracelet which rang up as a cent, good luck hunting

Swinging the detector back and forth is surprisingly addictive.
