Those skills I had as a child to dig a hole have vanished with age. I swear I am not able to dig a good hole. forget about making it neat again after I am done. I hear a lot of you mention you dig a plug!? How? what do you use to dig with? What about those holes you dig and never find anything? Yet the signal persists?

To dig a Plug, simply cut a circular hole in the ground with ur knife, then lift it out. There are some tools that cut plugs for you, maybe someone has a link.

If you're digging and not finding anything you have one of about 3 problems. You have missed the target. It is there but you just dug in the wrong place. OR Your sensitivity is set too high causing false signals. OR You are digging in an area with something causing interference such as a metal fence or near a large metal object (metal grandstands), high energy highline overhead, etc. Watch out for copper water lines or underground utilities. Oops that's four! JIM
