I live On a beach in Alaska that is highly mineralized. We have massive tides that wash the beach twice daily. I want to know what is the best detector for beach detecting gold that can easily deal with the salt water mineralization. I’m a newbie but willing to spend some money to get what is most effective for gold detection in my area. Thanks.

Welcome to TreasureNet. Minelab Equinox 800 would be on the list to investigate. Good luck!

you'll get the best depth on a mineralised beach with a pulse induction machine , their only draw back is their limited discrimination so if you have a lot of iron junk or debris then you will be digging much of it .

best of luck

It definitely wouldn't be an AT Max. Those suck in salt water. A GPX5000 would probably be a good choice if there isn't much in the way of iron and other trash targets. If you need discrimination, the Equinox would be pretty high on my list.
