HELLO EVERYONE!! I know pennies enjoy the term cents more but i will use pennies this time!

I am a new coin roll hunter from Phoenix, Arizona! I enjoy looking through pennies the most and after two days of searching I have a few(lots) of questions!

First of all is there any point in saving pennies with a "S" mint mark?

I found a 1986 penny with no copper on it at all...is it unplated? i will post a picture if someone actually replies to this post.

I have a 2000 wide AM worth anything?

What other cents should i be looking for??????

Thanks and please reply for this is my first post.

pennynoob,

Welcome to the forum!!

I can't really answer all your question/s with genuine authority/knowledge, but I do know that all of the S mint marked coins aren't collectible, there are many "key dates" when it comes to coins of any domination, what you need to know is which are the key dates, errors, etc., it takes a lot of knowledge that takes a long time to acquire, books on this subject/s is highly suggested as well as online resources.

That being said, these question/s would have better results posted in the "Coins" or "Coin Roll Hunting" sections, there will be more members that have more knowledge and interest in this subject so you should get the results you're after.

Also I just found a site/forum that just deals with Lincoln cents, they seems to be very knowledgeable and you would learn much from the members there, here's the link and also a link to their forum.

I would love to see the "unplated" 1986 Lincoln!

I am not completely sure if it is unplated! Sorry for the format but look at the last ones mint mark...Kinda cool.
