Hello everyone. I'm new here, and new to treasure hunting. I just picked up a couple of pans and want to try them out. I'm in Rowan County, NC. I was referred by Snarkie, who I do know in real life. He kinda got me thinking about panning and I finally decided to make the first step. I have seen posts about the Uwharrie. I go camping there a couple times a year, so that will be convenient to take the pans. I have a tiny creek out back of the house we just moved, and when my pans came in, I went to play just for practice to get a feel for how the pans work. It's a shallow creek, and tons of mica, probably no gold. But, I saw a video of someone using BBs to demonstrate, so I tried it out. My wife and I have 5 kids (combined), she works full time, and I'm graduating in May, so our time is very limited. I'm hoping to get to go camping in March and try my hand at it in the wild.
So, anyway, I'm going to read a while and catch myself up to speed on the forum.
