Beach & Shallow Water Hunting
Hello All,

I am new to treasure hunting. I purchased a Garrett Ace 350 so I could use it at the beach. I am from the Dothan, AL area and looking for someone to hunt with and possibly help teach me the best way to discrimminate, etc. I thought hunting at the beach would be easier at first, but those pull tabs are nuts! I was hoping there was a group in this lower AL area that I could get in contact with. Any advice or help would be appreciated.

You might consider browsing Sub-Forums: Alabama for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state.

Welcome. I hate pull tabs too but it seems like you have to dig them if you want to find the good stuff.

welcome good luck at the beach

I saw your post as a new member. I am only 2 hours from Montgomery. Were you aware of a Gold camp called Alabama Gold camp, Lineville, AL? I was doing some research and there are several Alabama counties involved in the gold digging era and with the older type of gold digging equip, much was lost and now is sedimentary in varied lakes, streams, etc.

Welcome aboard and happy hunting!

Welcome from kentucky and good hunting

Welcome to the forum! The best advice for beach hunting is to dig it all. Invest in a beach scoop, it makes target recovery very easy. Those pesky pull tabs can be small gold rings, you have to dig the trash sometimes to get the treasure!
