Hi everybody. Rick here from South Texas by the Mexican Border. It had been a long time since I wanted to get me a metal detector and I just did on ebay, got me two actually, an Ace 250 and a Fisher F5. Don't know where to start so I figured treasurenet was the place to begin at. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself to y'all.

Hi, Rick!
Wanna wish you happy hunting, and good luck!

Hi Professor nice to meet you. Started this hobby about a month ago and whenever I have a chance I head out hunting. Started with a Compadre and Ace 250 and within a cpl of weeks I upgraded to a GBP and planning on getting a F75 LTD or a Tesoro Tejon I'm still undecided since I've read that the F75 is so strong that it's always chattering, sorry for asking you but since I'm a newbie I'm asking you what are your suggestions. THX

Welcome misterchivo my husband has an F75 and yes,it is a very chatty machine.if you're new to metal detecting you might want to rethink getting that one.

Thanks CoilyGirl. I've been on hold for about a week trying to decide the way I see it I think I'm gonna go for the Tejon.

Thanks Diggin, sure will.

The F75 LTD was just upgraded last fall, it is a very quiet machine now if it has the new software. Mine is off to the factory now waiting on the upgrade. The new units all have the new software.
