Hi LawnPower
Welcome to the best on the net for treasure!!!
I think that TreasureNet is the best place for metal detectors on the net ,you will love it here much information.
I live Just above Elmira N.Y. and that must be close to where you are, used to have a farm in Liberty PA. long ago.
If you ever get close to Watkins Glen look me up and we can do some MDing.

Hey lawnpower
That was me posting about Spanish Hill and the cannons i hunted Spanish Hill late 60s early 70s the people that owned it let me but there is a house up there now and haven`t been back
lot of history there.
I hunt the plowed fields right now if it warms up im closer to Millport N.Y. i used to live in Elmira 20 yrs. ago and hunted there 20 yrs. have been to a couple of Sullivans Camps that gets good stuff.Found a 1787 Conn. copper in OLD Fort Sullivan in Sayre PA. its a little public park now but i don`t think anyone knows, been doin research for 40 some years . and some spanish things found around here be the early settelers sward, connon ball, more In Horseheads N.Y.
As for the Cannons inside a very large hill near you I have only ever seen one paragraph about that and i cant remember where is saw it, supoos the be a cannon factory for the Rev War and when the war was over they just seeled up the cave entrance inside the hollow very large hill with all the stock and half made cannons in it.But there are to many things wrong with that for me to think the Factory is real.
I know there are olny a few that even detect around here so the police are very kind and have never been bothered by them in any way. So we got to do our part localy to cover our holes and make the ground looks good after we dig and to take all trash you dig with you.
Gary

true even if its just a story made up through time it still is fun to read about it. :read2: learning about the history is half the fun even if its made up ..lol.
