Hello! My name is Jon, I'm 36, and have been metal detecting since I was about 10 years old.
I started out with a little Garret for kids, then my family upgraded to a top of the line Garret, and it was too much of a jump for us at the time! We traded it on a Whites 6000di and had a lot of good times with it (It still works good, and is my backup detector).
I also have a Whites 6000di sl, a Whites mxt, and a new Fisher F-75.
We mostly did the coinshooting thing, until they started fencing in all the schools
I got away from metal detecting for a while to pursue an interest in building hot rods. I've got three of them on the road now, and need a break from that, so I decided to get back to my other hobby!
I am mostly interested in relic hunting now, and metal detecting is my "fishing".
I live in Riverview Fl, just southeast of Tampa.
I don't have many pics of myself, but these were taken sunday at a carshow in Ocala....I'm a little sunburned but very happy in them!
Getting the "mad-dog" from some dude that didn't win!
I swear I'm not "grabbing my crotch" there was just nowhere to put my hands!

Jon, great to have you with us. You will be addicted to MDing before you know it. Love those older cars...congrats on your win.
