Newbie from Canberra

Hi all
I am a metal detectorist. Love it. Mainly interested in gold detecting but coin and relic hunting keeps me very engaged.
I stumbled on this site as I was researching a find yesterday in an old gold area. The find was a Hoopers cachou tin. Not in good nick (nor would you be after 100+ years in the ground I suspect). This site has some good info on these tins and I often do find things where you wonder "What the...?"
I look forward to some widespread reading on this site and perhaps meeting members from time to time.
