Nice coin, I would send it to ANACS or PCGS for authentification. Haven't seen one of these found on the site before, except for that one guy that took a pic off google and said he found it :D

yeah tell us the story! the condition is awesome. is it a dug coin?

Thanks I found this coin in some old papers. Do you really send your coins somewhere to have them looked at? I am new at this, can you trust them? The coin dealer told us if it wasn't a reproduction it could be worth alot of money. I really appreciate all your help.
Thanks

Thanks I found an Authorized PCGS Dealer fairly close. I think I will take it there. I'll let you know what I find out.

I sent a picture of this to Heritage Rare Coins and a Matthew Orsini said it was a replica and not worth anything. It was fun waiting and I have learned alot. Thanks for all the help and maybe someday I"ll find something of value.

O well, maybe its still silver;) I thought it looked kinda fishy, like it was cast, did they say how it was made?

oh well....ya cant win em all! maybe next time. it is still a cool repro.

NO its not silver. They said it was lead and tin. When were these replicas made? We found this in some old papers. Were they made back in the late 1600's or are they fairly recent. Nobody has really said and I was just wondering.
Thanks
Tillie
