Detector(s) used
Whites IDX Classic
I found the Treasure net site a few months ago and thought I would sign up.
Seems to be some of the Friendliest and most helpful folks in the World on here.

Well I have had a detector (White’s classic IDX) for maybe 8 years + or – a year or so. I have just started using it this spring. (Long story) maybe I should say started learning the machine. I probably have about 20 hours in it so far, the weather has been so dry and hot here that I haven’t been out as much as I would like. Here is a pic of some my neatest items so far. Not including a bunch of clad and wheat pennies.

A confederate artillery button (no back) a shielded nickel (can’t make out the date)
And some kind of wedding ring made of copper??? These were found on our farm here in Ky , 12 miles west of Richmond.

Welcome to TNet. Looks like that farm of yours could really produce some neat finds. Keep swinging and keep us posted.

If the ring were found in a CW area, it could very well have been a soldier's ring. The sutlers carried plated brass or copper wedding rings to sell to the troops so that they could send their gold rings home to their wives. (Items like gold rings never stayed on corpses long after Civil War battles...) My friend and huntin' buddy Kindafoundabuckle found one in a CW camp early this spring. There were very few non-CW era finds made during all our trips to the site. Congrats on your finds, and good luck learning your machine. It is a long process, but quite rewarding.

Hi BuckleBoy

The CW button and ring were found in the same area, I honestly can't say if it is a
CW area. I am roughly 12 to 13 miles (by the way of the crow) from the battle of Richmond
and maybe a little closer to Camp Nelson. I also just found out about an hour ago that another button
was found about 6 years in the same area, it would have been about 50 yards from the ring.
The button I found was about 200 yards away from the ring.

I have not really searched this area much, just waiting on it to cool off before I go back.
Thanks Shooter204

Good Lookin' Stuff Shooter....The button's awesome, love it.Sound's like you might have some more exploring to do on your own proprty,Good Luckand keep us posted!!

Nice finds shooter. Keep hittin that farm hard dude. If you found a shield 5 center there there's bound to be some really cool stuff there. The button is nice also and leads me to believe there may be a few more military artifacts laying around. Good luck. I hope you find some great stuff. I love this hobby.....HH Evo
