Hello fellow treasure seekers! This is my 1st post. Total newbie at this hobby but Im "diggin" it thus far!
I havent been out much with my MD ( a nice new Garrett 250 ) Id say three times tops. I know I know, still gettin my feet wet. BUT!! each time Ive gone out, I've not come back empty handed.
I recently took the MD with me on vacation to the mountains of CO. Stayed in a nice cabin up above Idaho Springs if anyone is familiar. There are some old mining towns scattered throughout the place so I figured I'd be crazy NOT to bring the Garrett with me.
We hiked up a place called Yankee Hill, there, the ruins of the old 94 settlement remain. It was there I got my only real hit.
Mind you there was a foot and a half of snow while I was there so the ground was pretty much frozen in the spots I could get to. Around the base of one of the old cabins though. I found this.

I'd assume its some sort of bracket to hold the walls together, a stud placement of sorts. It does have a stamp of AMERICAN on it, least I think thats what it says, and # listed on the flip side.
I think it was a pretty cool find. Just would love to know more about it.
... and from the looks of this place. Im'a be plenty busy enjoying all the other posts and finds!
Thanks!
