Newbie dectorist traveling to India

Anybody have any thought on bring a detector to India? Will there be alot of customs hassles?

I would actually contact the embassy and find out and if possible get it in writing. With all the concerns over terrorism they might be a little paranoid about any electrical items. Be a prob to arrive and have it confiscated!!
