Hi everyone , being a newbe around here I'm hoping this posting is going into todays finds . I joined a few weeks back and been watching all the great finds you guys been finding..I Have found this site to be a great motivator for me..My friends don't get into this activity they think its silly or think they are above it,who knows anyway I don't have much to talk about in my finds except clad coins and everyone knows what they look like so I won't show a picture of them..The only thing I found of interest was a silver spoon with man made holes in it. It is marked on the back side Monroe Silver Co.Can anyone place a date on this? I would be very greatfull ..Oh by the way what are the options used for?
Thanks
Hybridcruiser

Note a clue on the date but a very cool find

Re: Newbee finds silver spoon

I can't date it,but your located in a good spot, only 32 miles from my home town of Kenosha WI. If I ever get a chance to move back, maybe I'll see you around. HH

I'm sure I can but I'll need to know what it says on the back. Got a clearer pic of the handle design? I'll let you know who made it also.

Aloha, This is actually Silver plated made by Monroe silver co. circa 1920-40's The pattern is called "Monroe four". Still serving pieces are always desireable.

Don't rule it out. Serving peices are worth their weight in silver or plate and then some. Do a search either on ebay or replacements.com to see what they are bringing. Congrats.

Cool spoon cruiser......
No idea on date either...

Keep safe and keep diggin'...

Funny that stylistically I was going to guess 1930s-40s. So not far off! 8)
