Received a Garrett Ace 350 as a Christmas gift and just when I had some time to test this baby out a cold snap settles in. High today was 27 and the ground harden up pretty good. Any tips on cold weather detecting? My son and I ran it over our back yard and found a dime just under the grass. He was pretty excited. I'm thinking of heading to the Jersey or Long Island Shore (90 minute drive) Saturday as tempertures are expected to get close to 50.

Welcome to treasure-net, keep us posted on your finds.

Welcome to the forum from the Berkshires of Western, Ma. It will be cool at the beaches - as a Brooklyn transplant I grew up around them and miss them now!! :icon_thumright:

Welcome baysh, I'm from orange co. work in rockland. I've detected in rockland a little, there are some good colonial sites, but they are few and far between. If you look around and ask permission there are some good finds to be had. Good luck with your new detector..Skunemonk!!!!

Hello all!!! I am new to this forum but not new to finding treasure!! I recently moved here in Webster NY from a NW suburb of Chicago. I am super excited to get outside and go exploring!!! I happened to stumble upon this site searching for more information about my favorite hobby. It seems like there is a lot of good info here. Looking forward to reading and posting some stimulating conversation!! :hello:

Steve
