The Little Privy Dig
In this adventure, we set out to discover, excavate and sift forgotten privies. If you didn't already know, privy is the term used for outhouses or outdoor toilets. Lucky for us, the privies we opened up have not been used for quite some time! The day was hit and miss and then right before a big thunderstorm, we got into a productive hole. Isn't that the way it goes sometimes? Well, before the rain could run us off we did manage to rescue some interesting relics of the past. Y'all enjoy.

I learn something new here everyday. Now I know what a "privy" is. Thanks. Great finds there. How deep were some of these items? I dug down about 3 foot in an old outhouse (privy) last week, and found bottles at about 1-2 feet.

we dug that stuff as shallow as 1.5 feet and as deep as 8 feet. the other day we got in a stone lined privy that was 10 feet deep and still getting deeper when it got dark.
