Awhile back my wife and I were staying on Lummi Island attending a wedding in Bellingham, Wash. While waiting we decided to collect the perfect rock off the west beach. (Tried detecting but found nothing.) IMG_2847.JPGEver inventive my wife uses them this way.

Very interesting arrangement. I hunted a promising lot today and found nothing but a dozen pennies ....and a big chunk of nice looking rock that I hauled back to the car. Too big for the table, mine will go in the rock garden with all the others I have found and claimed.

reminds me of lucy's rocks in their rv..

I haul home the interesting ones for my collection by the back door...hubby won 't let them in! Lol!

I thought I was the only one who grabs cool rocks. :) I made a fire pit with rocks I dug from my backyard, around 8 inches wide and a foot high, 2 feet perimeter. I cooked burgers over it :)

I thought the same thing! I have been bringing them home since I was a kid when I'd go visit a creek that would always give me a fossil or two.
OP, I think your wife's idea would be great in a rustic cabin!

Well not quite the same, but one of my greatest treasures is a small plastic container with a bunch of rocks in it. Nothing special about the rocks, the special part was it was a gift from my 4 year old son for my birthday. I've held on to that for 32 years now.

I rebuilt it after my first post to make it better.

I used it today for memorial day cookout, hot dogs steak and chicken.

I have always brought home a rock from every trip we have taken. All different places and states. Here are a couple of my favorites. rocks 001.JPGrocks 002.JPGrocks 004.JPGrocks 005.JPG First one is from Watkins Glen, N.Y.. Second reminds me of a clam. In two pieces. Unfortunately this old lady forgets where I got it. But, I think Montana.
