sweet ride, what's under the hood? do they have it turned to meet emissions?

OK, as an ex trucker that is a bit sexy :icon_thumleft:, beats my old Transcontinental or Fiat 170, and they were good for their day 8)

Nice lookin rig. Bet you feel like you're in tall cotton runnin down the road in that.

That's a nice rig. My brother drove a truck like that for 18 years. He loved being on the road and seeing different places. His last 5 years that he drove was a regular route from Indianapolis to Los Angeles every week.

:o

Cool Truck....are those Alcoa's on it :P

Is it a Kenworth? I love the old Peterbilt trucks(Needle nose Pete's).
My brother is a truck driver, too---we tease him and call him "Johnny Gear Jammer" ;D .
Nice ride, Ron :icon_thumright: :icon_thumleft:

Thanks Sniffer, It has a Cummins engine, with all kinds of emission controls.

Yes SS, Came with Alcoa polished aluminum wheels. They were an option until this year. Now this year they are standard equipment.

Thanks Sandcreek and ALL, Yes it is a Kenworth. I am not in love with trucks, but It was all I had to fall back on when the economy went belly up. My business slowed down and I had to do something to pay the bills. I do enjoy it sometimes, but looking forward to getting back to doing my own thing someday. Having nice new equipment, and working for a good company makes it tolerable.

Last truck I drove before I retired was a long nose Pete. The hood was 4 inches longer due to it having a Cummins 480 HP monster inside. The downside of going to Canada (or so I'm told) is that the truck must be limited to 62 MPH. I never knew it to be fact. Can you help me out on that ???

nice looking Rig I to am a driver and also do flatbed

here is a photo of mine

its got a C13 with 490 HP 10sp Auto (YUCK)

I believe you are right about the truck speed being 62 MPH in Canada. That's what our trucks are governed at anyway.

The speed limits on the freeway's up there are mostly 100K, which equates to as fast as our trucks will go. I have seen some stretches of road where the speed limit is faster.

Nice looking though. Mine has an electronically castrated cummins, with a 9 speed.

Nice looking ride, too bad they cripple them electronically, but maybe it cuts down on speeding tickets. As a kid I spent every summer traveling coast to coast with my dad. He had a number of different trucks over the years but my favorite was a 1981 Peterbuilt double bunk cabover, it had a 600 Cummins w/ 15 speed tranny. That truck sure had power and speed, it took quite a hill to slow it down much. It was pretty cool to see a lot of this country, lots of it I would like to see again with some time to enjoy it.
