New treasure hunter from Harrisonburg Va

I just started hunting this week I have found a few copper pennys 1960's and a 1955 Dime just looking around in my own yard.
Want to go to Smith Mountian lake this weekend as the lake is extremely low and lots of area normaly coverd by water is now dry. Going to search around docks that are now sitting on dry ground for things. As past experience has taught me most things
dropped at a dock are transfering items from the boat or to the boat. As the water resides the docks that are floating kinda drop back a few feet.
