Don't have details, Feliciasol, but I think I recognize the material.

I bet he found all kinds of good stuff if he knew what to look for. I just found a treasure map when they cleaned out an archaeologists storage unit. So you never know what can be found. http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/what/606209-i-found-treasure-map-but-gypsy-graves-handwriting.html

Welcome Felicia! Cool find and I think it has potential! One thing you might do is to check and make sure it's not resin. Take a needle or similar sharp tool and heat the tip red. Attempt to thrust it into the object in a place that would not be noticeable. If it does penetrate the surface you'll smell the burning plastic smell.

Even if it is a souvenir piece, if it's made of stone it's still valuable because of it's obvious quality.

Best wishes!

Ok so I did that test with heat and it does nothing to the stone so guess that’s a

It does indeed look like one of the synthetic stones. FWIW, some of the cast stones use polymers that won't melt with a needle.

If you look at it with a magnifying glass (or plain eyes if you have good eyesight) does it look like little pebbles of material? Jades and greenstones used in Mexico & Central American can be mottled and blotchy, but i can't think of any that are conglomerates showing grains or pebbles.
