I found these very interesting stones next to a river when it was low not too long ago...where I live in Virginia....Any information is greatly appreciated. I am new to this and have always loved digging in the dirt for gem stones and smooth round rocks in mother nature. I love the hunt for these newly discovered treasures which carry (Im hoping) such an extensive story and history. I am definitely a new collector that is hooked!... Thank you for your time. Sincerely, E. Ryan

personally, I don't see any evidence that man has turned them into tools of any sort. They just look like natural rocks to me

What makes you think they are paleo age? What kind of tool do you think it is?

What part of Virginia do you live? I'm near Martinsville and have quite a collection of relics and a little knowledge i would be glad to share if you are near.

Sorry, they are not artifacts, simply rocks.

Whatever they are, they are pretty darn cool, and would be great additions to my rock garden. I am forever picking up oddities and bringing them home to my garden.

not trying to be a smart-a#@ but look at it like this.... Fred Flintstone was not an American Indian, "stone-age" people the world over were capable of making finely crafted and readily identifiable tools. In most cases if you have to ask, the answer is "no".
